I am having a Christmas dinner with my family and the rest of my holiday, I will be meeting with my friends, too.
In UK, Christmas is the family time. New Year, we celebrate with our friends.
Traditional celebration between Japan and England are slightly different.

Christmas Jumper Day

Are you looking forward to the Christmas?

At Rossett, Friday 20th December is the Christmas Jumper Day.
We are encouraging staff and students to wear their favourite jumper or decorate an old one in an innovative way and there will be £2 donation should be brought. We will be supporting a number of children's charities with this event!

Christmas Market 2013

Christmas market is on this weekend in Harrogate and York.
It is so lovely with all the Christmas decorations in little huts but also smells lovely with all the Christmas ornaments and hot drinks.

If you have been to any one, please share some pictures!

Myself - I went to one in York city centre, St Nicholas Christmas Fayre.
At outlet, there is a Santa grotto and it was so busy queuing up. In outlet, there is also a outside skate link, too.

メイン通りに、ちいさな小屋が設置され、そこでかざりつけされたお店は、クリスマスのいい雰囲気を出しています。

また、ヨークにあるアウトレットのお店では、サンタさんにあえる、Santa Grotto がこどもたちにとても人気です。
ヨークの鉄道博物館でも、サンタさんに会えますよ。

各地でたくさんイベントがあり、子供たちにも大人にも、イギリスはこれからどんどん盛り上がっていきます。

Japanese Silk Paint

今週は、Japanese Silk Paint　をしました。

シルクの生地です。

もうすでに、絵は描いてあるので、上から色を塗ります。

クリスマスカードにぴったりなものも、たくさんできました。

たのしかったね！

This week, we did Japanese silk paint.

Lovely silky texture.

Picture was already drawn, so all you need to do is adding colour, although, this is the tricky bit but so much fun playing with the colour gradation.

Very relaxing, too!

There has been a lovely atmosphere in school on Friday at Children in Need. Here is our staff - isn't she gorgeous! Soon it will be a Christmas! Anyway, we have raised over £2K with money and more coming in.

11月15日（金曜日）は　Children in Need　のイギリスのチャリティーの日です。

この日は生徒は2ポンドのチャリティーのお金を持参し、仮装して登校します。

Japanese exchange

Miss Horsfall and Mr Bulmer have been holding assemblies for Years 7-11 giving information on the next Japanese Exchange which is planned for 2014/15. The exchange is very well established and offers students the opportunity to discover the famous sites of Japan in the iconic oriental cities of Tokyo and Kyoto, sample Japanese food and understand what life is like for pupils in Japanese schools. The first part of the Exchange takes place in November 2014 when Rossett students host the Japanese students on their visit to Harrogate.

ロセット学校の、日本の交換留学に関する記事です。

2014/2015年度の、日本の交換留学についての学年集会が、Horsfall先生とBulmer先生より行われました。
この交換留学は毎回素晴らしいものとなっており、生徒は日本ではいろいろな体験をし、日本の文化や歴史を学びます。集会では前回、交換留学に参加した生徒からの発表などがありました。交換留学は、まず、2014年11月にロセット校が石神中学校の生徒様をお迎えします。

Open day at Rossett "success for everyone"

今日は、ロセット校の学校一般公開日でした。
朝９時半から、校門の前には保護者の方とYear6の生徒の方で、列ができました。

小雨のとても寒い中、お越しいただき、ありがとうございました。

各教科、校内は盛りだくさんの１日となりました。
こちら、日本語コーナーです。

Today was a open day at Rossett.
At 9:30am, there was a long queue in front of the school.
It was quite a cold, shower day. Thank you so much for your coming.

So, there was a lot going on at school in each subject.

日本語クラブで、お寿司を作った様子や、交換留学の様子などを並べました。

それから、折り紙のコーナーをつくったり、日本語で名前を書くコーナーも作りました。

In our Japanese Club, we displayed some picture of cooking sushi and some picture of our exchange.
We did some origami and I wrote visitor's names in Japanese as well.

Aレベルを専攻している彼女に、今日はお手伝いをお願いしました。
彼女、折り紙で、こんなに上手に立体的なリボンが作れるんですよ。
ほかにも、いろんな立体的なお花を作ってくれました。
ありがとう！

We had a great help from my student who does A level Japanese.
Look - she can make this 3D shape bow tie (or a ribbon) by folding origami.
She is very good.
She made some flowers and lilies as well. Arigato.

Our exciting sushi making

Today at our Japanese club, we made sushi and yaki onigiri.

They are Egg nigiri, smoked salmon nigiri and yaki onigiri.
We also made makizusi each as well.

They were all so yummy and lovely!

Once you know how to make them, it is very easy to make sushi.
It will be so perfect to have sushi at any occasions!

今日の日本語クラブでは、みんなでお寿司をつくりました。

たまごのにぎりに、スモークサーモンのにぎり。
あと、焼きおにぎりと巻き寿司もつくりました。

もりだくさんでしょ。

一度作り方が分かれば、お寿司は誰でも簡単に作ることができます。

Hello. 

I love food. I like cooking Japanese food but also I like cooking English food, too because my husband is a chef!

Do you know? In Japan, American or Hawaiian style pancake is getting very, very popular.
However, people are saying next one will be this one! 

English crumpet!

If you know some good recipes of how to make crumpet, please share with us!
Otherwise, please share your favorite way of eating crumpet! (Eg. with jam or with melted cheese on the top.)

イギリス生まれの「もっちり」した食感のお菓子（パンケーキのようなもの）で、
ネット上で、これから人気になるとうわさされているそうです。

  　
イギリスでは、こんな風にパッケージに入って、スーパーで売られています。

食べ方は、トースターで軽く焼いて、バターをぬって、ジャムと一緒に食べたり、
グリルで、とろけるチーズをのせて焼いて食べたりするそうです。

私も大好きです。

Ajisai あじさい

It is getting colder in uk at Rossett School. This morning, the temperature was 9 degrees.
This flower, we call it Ajisai in Japanese. It's a summer flower but in uk, you can find them as you can see in the picture like that.
I like Ajisai even if when they get very dry and brown as well.
Do you like it, too?

40 years of Rossett

We will be celebrating 40 years of Rossett tomorrow, 19th July 2013.
This will be a non uniform day and each year group dressing from a different decade.
Tomorrow is the last day of term.

This is my first summer enjoying this beautiful sunshine and it has been over 30 degrees for last couple of weeks.

3D origami swan

At our Japanese club, we are making a 3D swan!
It made out from lots of pieces of paper.
We will be carry on making this in September! Watch out!

On the last day of term, Rossett School students and staff will be celebrating the schools 40^th anniversary with a variety of activities including lessons in the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s style and students will be invited to come in fancy dress for a £2 donation to charity!

Year 8 – the 00s

Year 9 – the 90s

Year 10 – the 80s

Year 11 – the 70s

Lunch will also follow the theme and will be followed by retro party games, DJ Dent, a balloon launch and much, much more!

I was suffering Gikkuri Goshi, it almost means surprise hip!
I never thought it would happen to me, but I threw out my back.
